The device takes inspiration from older sliding handhelds like the Sony Xperia Play and PSP Go, combining modern hardware with a retro form factor. The design features a sliding mechanism that conceals the controls beneath the screen, allowing for a more compact appearance when not in use.

At the 2025 Taipei International Computer Show, Colorful presented its new mini PC, the SMATR 900.
