Ayaneo Unveils Pocket Ace, a Compact Gaming Handheld with Snapdragon G3x Gen 2
Ayaneo has introduced a new compact handheld gaming device, the Pocket Ace, which is now available for crowdfunding through Indiegogo. This new model continues the company’s focus on Android-based handheld consoles and arrives with a design that prioritizes portability while offering hardware capable of handling modern mobile gaming and even Nintendo Switch emulation.
The Pocket Ace is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset, a platform already used in Ayaneo’s previously launched Pocket DMG and Pocket S models. Despite sharing the same high-end chipset, the Pocket Ace is noticeably smaller. The device measures 156 x 63 x 18 mm, making it only slightly larger than Ayaneo’s earlier Pocket Micro and Pocket Micro Classic.

The Pocket Ace features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,620 x 1,080 pixels and a peak brightness of 550 nits, delivering sharp visuals and good outdoor visibility despite its compact form factor. Its high pixel density enhances clarity for gaming and media, while the use of Hall effect joysticks and triggers ensures smoother, more durable input by eliminating mechanical wear and drift. A six-axis gyroscope enables responsive motion controls, adding versatility for compatible games. Despite weighing just 310 grams, the device houses an efficient cooling system that helps sustain performance during extended sessions, making it a well-balanced handheld designed for both portability and capability.
Under the hood, the Pocket Ace includes LPDDR5X RAM running at 8,533 Mbps. Storage varies across models, with most configurations using UFS 4.0 memory, except the entry-level 128 GB version, which relies on the slightly slower UFS 3.1 standard. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 40 W, aimed at extended gaming sessions without long charging times.

The Pocket Ace is offered in multiple configurations. The base model comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, starting at $339. Mid-tier options include 16 GB of RAM with either 512 GB ($499) or 1 TB of storage. The top-tier 1 TB variant, priced at $599, is available in a ‘Retro Power’ color finish, distinguishing it from the other models.
With a strong focus on performance in a compact body, Ayaneo appears to be targeting users who want a portable handheld that doesn’t compromise on hardware. While crowdfunding is still underway, the company has stated that it plans to begin shipping units starting next month, assuming production timelines remain on track.
The Pocket Ace adds to Ayaneo’s expanding lineup of Android gaming handhelds and may appeal to those looking for a balance of size, performance, and flexibility in mobile gaming.
