AYANEO Opens Pre-Orders for FLIP 1S Series Dual-Screen and Keyboard Windows Handhelds

AYANEO has officially opened pre-orders for its new-generation FLIP 1S series handheld gaming consoles on its official website. The series includes two models: the FLIP 1S DS, featuring a dual-screen design, and the FLIP 1S KB, which comes with a built-in keyboard. Both models are scheduled for official release in July.

The FLIP 1S series introduces several hardware improvements, starting with the main display. It now features a 7-inch OLED screen with a 1920x1080 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and a reported peak brightness of 800 nits. AYANEO states that the panel covers a broad color gamut, contributing to improved visual quality and smoother gameplay through a higher refresh rate and low response times.

The dual-screen FLIP 1S DS model includes a secondary 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen located above the main display. This secondary screen supports 1080P resolution, offers 130% sRGB color gamut coverage, and reaches a maximum brightness of 550 nits. The aspect ratio remains 3:2, optimized for multitasking and supported content such as game guides or chat apps. The secondary screen also functions as a native extended Windows display, making it compatible with dual-screen retro games like those on the Nintendo DS and 3DS.

For software, both models use AYANEO’s custom AYASpace 3.0 management platform. The software includes features such as real-time hardware monitoring, dual-screen window control, and a built-in virtual keyboard and touchpad to improve usability when on the go.

From a design perspective, AYANEO has upgraded the top shell of the FLIP 1S DS to a CNC-machined metal panel. The hinge mechanism has also been redesigned, replacing the previous fixed-angle hinge with a stepless damping shaft that allows the screen to open and adjust to any angle up to 180 degrees. This provides greater flexibility for both gaming and productivity tasks.

Internally, the FLIP 1S series is powered by AMD's new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor based on the Zen 5 architecture. It includes integrated Radeon 890M graphics and offers up to 50 TOPS of AI computing power. An alternate configuration with the Ryzen 7 8840U is also planned. The inclusion of these latest-generation AMD chips positions the FLIP 1S series among the most powerful Windows handhelds currently announced.

The TMR electromagnetic middle joystick offers a high polling rate of up to 1000Hz, providing precise and responsive input for various use cases. The controller setup also includes linear Hall effect triggers, membrane-style ABXY and shoulder buttons, along with enlarged function keys designed to enhance accessibility and ease of use.

Connectivity has also been enhanced with dual USB4 ports, which support high-speed data transfer, charging, and peripheral connectivity, including external displays and docking stations.

The FLIP 1S series continues AYANEO’s push into the high-performance handheld market, offering a blend of productivity and gaming features in a portable form factor. With pre-orders now live, interested buyers can secure a unit ahead of the official release next month.
