KT Pocket Unveils KT-R2 Handheld Console with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and Optional LCD Displays

KT Pocket has introduced the KT-R2 handheld gaming console, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and optional 3:2 or 4:3 fully laminated LCD screens. The console runs on KOS, an operating system based on Android 14, and is currently available for pre-order on KT Pocket’s official website, starting at 140 USD.

The KT-R2 is designed to be compact and portable. It measures 196.6 × 79.8 × 17.2mm for the 3:2 version and 159.4 × 79.9 × 17.9mm for the 4:3 version, with a projection area similar to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, allowing it to fit easily into a pocket. The console is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip coupled with a Mali-G615 GPU, which supports running multiple game emulators and provides smooth performance for various Android-based titles.

The handheld console offers two screen options: a 4.5-inch 1620 × 1080 (3:2) display and a 4.2-inch 1280 × 960 (4:3) display. Both displays use IPS LCD technology with over 100% sRGB coverage. They support touch input and offer peak brightness of 550 nits and 500 nits, respectively. KT-R2 includes a Hall effect joystick, an active cooling system, and a PC-grade heat pipe to maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions.

Battery capacity varies by model, with 6920mAh for the 3:2 version and 6000mAh for the 4:3 version, supporting 33W fast charging. The console features dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, optional 4G connectivity for higher-tier models, dual linear motors for haptic feedback, and a five-magnet AAC speaker system for clear audio during gameplay.
