Machenike Launches KG87 V2 Mechanical Keyboard With 10,000mAh Battery

Machenike has introduced the KG87 V2, an 87-key mechanical keyboard that combines tri-mode connectivity, hot-swappable switches, and a 10,000mAh battery. The new model also features semi-transparent keycaps, Galaxy HiFi linear switches, and a 1,000Hz polling rate, bringing several gaming-focused features to a compact TKL keyboard designed for both wireless and wired use.

The Machenike KG87 V2 features an ABS chassis with a matte finish and five-sided matte keycaps. Unlike conventional mechanical keyboards with opaque keycaps, this model uses a semi-transparent design that allows its RGB lighting to pass through. Machenike is offering the keyboard in white, black, and pink color options, giving buyers a choice between three different finishes.

The keyboard comes equipped with Galaxy HiFi linear mechanical switches, which are factory-lubricated to provide smoother keystrokes and consistent feedback. It also supports full hot-swapping, allowing users to remove the installed switches and replace them with compatible alternatives without soldering. This makes it possible to customize the typing experience without replacing the entire keyboard.

Machenike has also focused on the keyboard's internal construction. The KG87 V2 uses five layers of padding designed to reduce hollow sounds and unwanted vibrations during typing. This layered structure works alongside the keyboard's mechanical switches to improve its overall acoustic performance.

For connectivity, the KG87 V2 supports three operating modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB wired. This allows users to switch between a low-latency wireless connection for gaming, Bluetooth for compatible devices, and a wired connection when needed. The keyboard supports a polling rate of up to 1,000Hz, meaning it can report key inputs at intervals of approximately 1ms.

Power comes from a 10,000mAh battery, which is relatively large for an 87-key mechanical keyboard. However, Machenike has not disclosed the expected battery runtime or charging time, so its real-world wireless endurance remains to be confirmed.

The lighting system is another part of the KG87 V2's design. It supports 16.77 million ARGB colors and multiple lighting effects, with the semi-transparent keycaps allowing illumination to pass through. Users can also configure supported settings through web-based drivers, avoiding the need to install a dedicated desktop application.

Despite its compact design, the KG87 V2 retains dedicated arrow keys and commonly used function keys. Its 87-key TKL layout removes the number pad, leaving additional desk space for mouse movement, which can be useful for players who prefer lower mouse sensitivity.

Machenike has not yet announced confirmed international pricing or availability for the KG87 V2. The keyboard's combination of tri-mode connectivity, a 10,000mAh battery, hot-swappable Galaxy HiFi switches, and customizable ARGB lighting makes it an option worth watching in the compact mechanical keyboard market.
