Acer Unveils Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11 Handheld Gaming Consoles at CES 2025

Acer showcased its latest handheld gaming devices, the Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11, during the CES 2025 exhibition. Both devices are powered by the Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and offer up to 2TB of storage space, positioning them as powerful tools for portable gaming enthusiasts.

Display Features

The Nitro Blaze 8 features an 8.8-inch touch screen, while the Nitro Blaze 11 is equipped with a larger 10.95-inch display. Both screens support a 144Hz refresh rate and deliver a peak brightness of 500 nits, ensuring smooth and vibrant visuals. Additionally, the devices incorporate AMD FSR super resolution technology, which enhances gaming performance and image quality by upscaling lower-resolution content.

Controls and Additional Features

Acer’s new handhelds are designed with precision and user comfort in mind. They come equipped with Hall effect joysticks and triggers for more accurate and reliable input. The Nitro Blaze 11 offers a unique feature: detachable controllers, providing flexibility for different gaming scenarios. Furthermore, a front-facing camera is included, enabling video calls and live streaming directly from the device.

Connectivity and Game Subscription

Both models feature a robust set of connectivity options, including USB 4 (Type-C), USB 3.2 (Type-C), Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Acer is also offering a three-month subscription to PC Game Pass with each purchase, giving users access to a vast library of games.

Pricing and Availability

The Nitro Blaze 8 (model GN782U) will launch in North America in the second quarter of 2025, starting at $899. In the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), the device will also be available in the second quarter, starting at €999.

 

The Nitro Blaze 11 (model GN7112U) will hit the North American market in the second quarter of 2025 with a starting price of $1,099. In the EMEA region, it will be available during the same period at a starting price of €1,199.

New Nitro Mobile Game Controller

Alongside the handheld consoles, Acer introduced the Nitro mobile game controller. This accessory features a folding design and connects via a USB-C interface. It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and can accommodate screens up to 8.3 inches in size. The controller also supports an 18W power supply pass-through, enabling users to charge their devices while gaming.

 

The Nitro mobile game controller will be available in North America starting in the second quarter of 2025 with a price tag of $69.99. In the EMEA region, it will debut in the first quarter, starting at €89.99.

 

Acer’s latest offerings highlight its commitment to delivering high-performance gaming solutions tailored for both casual and dedicated gamers, blending portability, performance, and innovative features.
