Antec Ventures into PC Handheld Market with Antec Core HS in Collaboration with AYANEO
Taiwanese media "Free Times" reported today that Antec, a renowned name in PC hardware, has unveiled its ambitious foray into the PC handheld market by partnering with AYANEO, unveiling their maiden offering, the Antec Core HS.
Drawing parallels with AYANEO's SLIDE handheld console, released in late 2023, the Antec Core HS boasts similar features, including a physical slide keyboard and a layout reminiscent of its counterpart.
Antec emphasized that the Antec Core HS is designed to cater to both gaming enthusiasts and professionals seeking office functionality on the go. With shipping slated to commence between June and July this year, the product aims primarily at the 18 to 30 demographic in European and American markets, strategically aligning with the Western holiday shopping spree at year-end.
Powered by the Windows 11 operating system, the Antec Core HS will be available in both entry-level and high-end variants, priced between $600 to $900 (approximately 4338 to 6507 yuan). The premium iteration of the handheld console will be driven by an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor, promising robust performance for users.
In light of Antec's financial performance, it's worth noting that the company reported a first-quarter revenue of NT$240 million (roughly $54 million), marking a 3.71% decline year-on-year, coupled with a net loss of 2.85%. However, Antec remains optimistic about returning to profitability in the foreseeable future, buoyed by the anticipated success of new ventures like the Antec Core HS.
Antec's bold move into the PC handheld market reflects the company's adaptability and strategic vision in tapping into evolving consumer preferences. With the unveiling of the Antec Core HS, the company aims to carve a niche in the competitive landscape, leveraging its expertise to offer innovative solutions tailored to the needs of modern users.
