AYANEO Confirms Pocket AIR Mini as First Device in CODE R Series
AYANEO has officially confirmed the launch of the Pocket AIR Mini, a new handheld console that marks the debut of its “CODE R” product line. Designed as an entry-level option, the Pocket AIR Mini is being promoted as an affordable gaming device intended to broaden the company’s audience.

The design of the Pocket AIR Mini reflects a retro-inspired approach, with a compact rectangular body and a relatively wide display. While the company has not confirmed exact specifications, early visuals suggest the screen may use a 4:3 aspect ratio. The control layout includes two analog joysticks with illuminated light rings, a D-pad on the left, and XYAB buttons on the right, following a layout similar to Nintendo controllers. Additional function buttons are placed around the interface for standard handheld operations.
This device is expected to be the same model that AYANEO previously referred to as “CODE R-1” during its 2025–2026 strategy presentation in late July. At that time, the company shared initial design concepts and indicated that the CODE R series would introduce products with lower price points while retaining the gaming features and portability associated with its premium lineup.

The introduction of the Pocket AIR Mini highlights AYANEO’s intention to diversify its offerings. While the brand is best known for higher-end handheld PCs running Windows, the CODE R series shifts focus toward accessibility. With this move, AYANEO appears to be positioning itself to compete more directly in the growing market for retro-style and budget handheld consoles.
At present, AYANEO has not disclosed hardware specifications, operating system details, or pricing for the Pocket AIR Mini. Official launch information, including regional availability and technical performance, is expected to be released in the coming months. As the first entry in the CODE R line, the Pocket AIR Mini will serve as a reference point for the company’s broader strategy in 2025 and beyond.
