MANGMI Announces Air Y and Air Y Pro Vertical Android Gaming Handhelds for 2026

MANGMI has officially announced its first gaming handhelds for 2026, introducing the new Air Y series. The lineup includes two models, the MANGMI Air Y and the MANGMI Air Y Pro, marking the company's first entry into the vertical handheld gaming market. Until now, MANGMI's portable gaming lineup focused on horizontal handhelds, including the Air X and Pocket Max, both released in 2025. Following those launches, the company spent the past year delivering software updates before revealing its next generation of Android gaming devices.

Both handhelds feature a vertical design inspired by classic portable gaming systems while running Android. MANGMI has also confirmed that both models are powered by Qualcomm processors, although it has not disclosed which chipsets they use. More hardware details are expected to be revealed closer to launch.

The standard Air Y arrives in a black finish with a traditional control layout. It includes a cross-shaped D-pad on the left, Nintendo-style ABXY buttons on the right, and a single analog stick positioned below the D-pad. The analog stick is surrounded by an RGB lighting ring, while a front-facing speaker grille is located beneath the action buttons. On the left side of the handheld, users will also find an orange button that appears to function as the power button, along with a scroll wheel and another side button whose purpose has not yet been confirmed.

The Air Y Pro shares the same overall design but introduces several hardware changes. It comes in a white finish with burgundy-colored buttons, matching the Retro edition of the Air X. The biggest addition is a second RGB-lit analog stick, making the handheld more suitable for Android games and emulators that benefit from dual-stick controls. Unlike the standard model, the Pro version does not include the front-facing speaker grille, although it keeps the extra side buttons and scroll wheel.

At this stage, MANGMI has not revealed the complete specifications for either device. Important details such as the display resolution, refresh rate, RAM, storage options, battery capacity, charging speed, and software features remain unknown. The company has also not confirmed whether both models share the same internal hardware or if the Pro version includes additional upgrades beyond the second analog stick.
