FlyDigi’s upcoming game controller, the APEX 5, has been spotted in a recent NeaLink certification listing, indicating that the new model is on track for an official release. While the company has yet to make any formal announcements regarding the APEX 5, the appearance in certification documents typically suggests that launch preparations are in the final stages.

The listing reveals that the controller comes from FlyDigi, a company known for producing multi-platform gaming accessories. Although specific details are still under wraps, the model name “APEX 5” suggests that this will be the next installment in the APEX series, following the APEX 4 which was released last year.

FlyDigi’s most recent entry in the APEX series, the APEX 4, was introduced in August 2024 and included a special edition themed after the action RPG "Black Myth: Wukong." That model featured a distinctive black and gold finish and support for the NeaLink connection standard. It also stood out for its technical features, such as the introduction of an alloy joystick with adjustable resistance—a first in commercial game controllers.

The APEX 4 allowed users to switch between multiple connection modes including NearLink, 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired, offering compatibility across a wide range of devices including PC, Nintendo Switch, mobile phones, and smart TVs. The controller was also noted for utilizing a next-generation wireless communication protocol with a polling rate of up to 2000Hz, significantly improving input responsiveness in wireless mode.

Based on the progression of the product line and the capabilities of the APEX 4, it’s likely that the APEX 5 will continue to offer broad platform support and high-performance features. However, until FlyDigi makes an official statement, it remains unclear whether the APEX 5 will retain the same design or introduce significant hardware changes.

The NeaLink certification confirms that the device has passed compatibility and performance standards necessary for NearLink wireless connectivity, a feature that has become central to FlyDigi’s recent hardware offerings. NearLink aims to reduce latency and enhance stability compared to older Bluetooth standards, making it especially attractive for competitive gaming scenarios.

As FlyDigi continues to expand its presence in the controller market, the upcoming APEX 5 could strengthen its position further. With regulatory clearance now in place, the official launch announcement is likely to follow soon, possibly accompanied by detailed specifications and pricing. For now, the certification listing serves as the first official indication that the APEX 5 is on its way to market.
