Beelink Expands ME Pro NAS Lineup With Budget Intel Pentium Silver J5005 Model and Dual 2.5GbE

Beelink has expanded its ME Pro NAS family with a new entry-level configuration powered by Intel's Pentium Silver J5005 processor. The latest model targets users who want a dedicated network-attached storage solution for home or small office use without paying for more powerful hardware that may not be necessary for everyday workloads. While the processor is several years old, it continues to offer enough performance for file storage, backups, media streaming, and personal cloud applications.

The new version is built around Intel's Pentium Silver J5005, a 14nm Gemini Lake processor introduced during the fourth quarter of 2017. It features four CPU cores and four threads, making it suitable for handling common NAS tasks while keeping power consumption relatively low. Beelink equips the system with 8GB of DDR4 memory as standard, allowing users to start using the NAS without requiring immediate upgrades.

Storage flexibility remains one of the highlights of the ME Pro series. In addition to its four drive bays for hard drives or SATA SSDs, the NAS includes two M.2 2280 slots designed for different purposes. One slot supports a PCIe Gen2 ×1 SSD and is intended as the system drive, while the second slot accepts SATA-based M.2 SSDs for additional storage. This configuration gives users the option to separate the operating system from the primary storage pool, which can help improve system organization and overall responsiveness.

The front panel features a USB Type-A port with 5Gbps transfer speeds, making it easier to connect external drives for quick backups or file transfers. Around the back, the system offers a broader selection of connectivity options, including two 2.5GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports, an HDMI output, a USB Type-C port with 5Gbps data transfer and DisplayPort Alternate Mode support, another USB Type-A 5Gbps port, a USB 2.0 Type-A port operating at 480Mbps, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Dual 2.5GbE networking is one of the stronger features of this model. Compared to traditional Gigabit Ethernet, it provides higher bandwidth for transferring large files across a local network and can also support link aggregation or multiple connected users, depending on the network setup. This makes the NAS suitable for households with several devices or small teams that regularly access shared storage.

Although the Pentium Silver J5005 is no longer Intel's newest platform, it remains capable of handling many of the workloads expected from an entry-level NAS. Users planning to store photos, videos, documents, surveillance recordings, or personal backups should find the hardware sufficient for daily operation. The addition of dual M.2 slots and faster network connectivity also helps extend the usefulness of the platform beyond basic file storage.

With this latest addition, Beelink is giving buyers another option within the ME Pro lineup by focusing on affordability while keeping features such as four drive bays, dual 2.5GbE networking, and flexible SSD expansion. Pricing and regional availability have not yet been announced, but the new model is expected to appeal to users looking for a budget-friendly NAS without sacrificing essential connectivity and storage options.
