Colorful Introduces SMATR 900 Mini PC with AMD Strix Halo Platform at Computex 2025
At the 2025 Taipei International Computer Show, Colorful presented its new mini PC, the SMATR 900. Built on AMD’s latest “Strix Halo” platform, the compact system is aimed at users who want strong performance in a small form factor. It supports up to an optional Ryzen Max+ 395 processor and can be configured with as much as 96GB of LPDDR5x memory.
The SMATR 900 uses an anodized aluminum chassis that combines strength with a smooth metallic finish. The build gives it a clean, professional appearance while offering better durability than plastic enclosures. Its design balances performance, cooling, and portability in a system that fits easily into a home or office setup.
Connectivity is well covered. The mini PC includes two USB4 ports, three USB 10 Gbps ports, and two standard USB 2.0 ports. It also features an SD 4.0 card reader, useful for transferring media from cameras and other devices. These options provide flexibility for a range of peripherals and accessories.
Inside the system is AMD’s Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, which runs directly on the same chip as the processor. During demonstrations at the show, the graphics performance was compared to the GeForce RTX 4060 in some systems, and in certain tests, the SMATR 900 showed better results. It was able to handle gaming, video editing, and rendering tasks without needing a separate graphics card.
Colorful highlighted the system’s power efficiency. While most traditional laptops consume around 80 to 90 watts under load, the SMATR 900 stays within that range but delivers stronger performance. This makes it suitable for users who need capable hardware for creative or technical work but prefer to avoid high power consumption.
The use of a high-performance chip with integrated graphics reduces the need for a dual-chip CPU and GPU setup, simplifying the design and helping to keep the size of the system small. This can be especially useful for professionals or gamers who need a compact desktop that doesn’t compromise on speed or responsiveness.
Colorful has not yet released final pricing or a shipping date for the SMATR 900, but more details are expected later this year. The system adds to the growing trend of powerful mini PCs that offer desktop-level capabilities in a space-saving design.
