GMKtec M5 Ultra Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Officially Released
GMKtec has officially introduced its latest compact desktop, the M5 Ultra Mini PC, powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor. The system enters the market at a starting price of 1,499 yuan (around $205) for the barebone version, targeting users who prefer a small, power-efficient machine without compromising on expandability and connectivity. The M5 Ultra maintains a compact design, measuring 128.8 × 127 × 47.8 mm, with a total volume of less than 0.8 liters. Despite its small footprint, GMKtec has included a dual-fan cooling system to handle sustained performance and heat management efficiently. The Mini PC supports a configurable TDP range of 10W, 15W, and 35W, allowing users to adjust power consumption and thermal output based on workload.
Internally, the system features dual-channel DDR4-3200 SODIMM slots, enabling memory upgrades up to 64GB. Storage expansion is handled by two M.2 2280 slots, with one supporting both PCIe and SATA interfaces, offering flexibility for SSD configurations. This setup makes it suitable for daily computing tasks, office environments, and compact workstation use.
For connectivity, the GMKtec M5 Ultra includes two Realtek RTL8125 2.5GbE network ports, providing reliable high-speed wired networking options. Wireless connectivity is managed by an AMD RZ616 module (MediaTek Filogic 330 / MT7922), supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. This combination ensures stable and fast connections for both wired and wireless usage scenarios.
The M5 Ultra draws power through a 19V DC input and supports triple-display output, a useful feature for users who rely on multi-monitor setups. The front I/O panel includes one USB-C (10Gbps, full-function) port, two USB-A (10Gbps) ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, and the power button. On the rear, users will find two USB-A 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort (8K@60Hz), one HDMI 2.1 (4K@60Hz), two 2.5GbE LAN ports, a Kensington lock, and DC-in for power.
Besides the barebone configuration, GMKtec also offers two preassembled models. The 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD version is priced at 2,049 yuan (approximately $280), while the 32GB RAM + 1TB SSD model costs 2,499 yuan (around $340). All models are based on the same Ryzen 7 7730U platform, which integrates 8 cores and 16 threads, with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics for general GPU workloads and multimedia acceleration.
The GMKtec M5 Ultra Mini PC combines compact dimensions, efficient cooling, and strong connectivity in a single package. Its balance of performance and flexibility makes it a suitable choice for users seeking a reliable system for productivity, light content creation, or network-focused applications without taking up much desk space.
