AYANEO Air Pro Teardown Review - The Air Pro’s Compact PCB and its AMD Barcelo APU

With the Aya Neo Air Pro handheld console , a new competitor product to Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck and Co. will soon be on the market. It is a 22.4 cm console with an OLED screen and AMD Barcelo APU , which is said to be particularly compact and powerful. The handheld was presented at an AYANEO showcase and its appearance is reminiscent of a Nintendo Switch console. In terms of its function and design, the device is more similar to the Steam Deck, as particularly powerful components have been installed here.

The creators have posted some images that show the console from all angles. They have also been compared to Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch. We can slightly reduce the size of the console compared to the Nintendo Switch in the shared photos. You can also see comparisons with greater steam. The most interesting thing is to see where the PCB and the rest of the PCB are installed, and the console area is used very well, as only the PCB holds half the size of the device. The console itself is larger, due to the fact that it integrates controls on the same chassis, requiring a cooling system and space for heat dissipation.

The Aya Neo Air Pro is equipped with a Ryzen 7 5825U APU with 8 cores and 16 threads clocked at up to 4.5 GHz. In addition, the device has an M.2 SSD slot and up to 32 GB of storage. So overall, the console is more powerful than the Switch, but not quite on par with Valve's Steam deck. The particular advantage of the Aya Neo Air lies in its lightness and handiness . The OLED display measures just 6 inches diagonally, which is one inch less than the Switch and the Steam Deck. Content should be played here in 1080p. The biggest drawback are the small batteries, which only have 10,050 mAh.

The first batch of AYANEO AIR handlers is expected to be delivered on trial and on the weekend. Tests will be completed after production and mass production will be on the production line and will be delivered at the end of the month. The Hall Effect Joystick officially appeared for the first time on Windows and appeared for the first time, bidding farewell to the Hall Effect Joystick drift to reach the 100% dead zone inside and out. In terms of performance, officials said that the performance of AYANEO AIR is enough for everyday use, it can manage all Indie games in 1080P, and that it can run almost all 3A games at 720P.

In addition to the version described here, there will also be a weaker version with a Ryzen 5 5560U APU and a more powerful device called the Aya Neo Air Plus . The latter is said to be equipped with an AMD Mendocino quad-core CPU and RDNA2 graphics. The cheapest version should appear for around 200 dollars . The Aya Neo Air with Ryzen 7, on the other hand, will start at $500 , while the Pro version will cost up to $1400 in the best configuration. The handheld consoles should appear in autumn 2022.
