AYANEO AIR - The world's First OLED handheld Released From US$499 Price

 AYANEO has announced specifications and pricing for its AIR console. The novelty is lighter and much cheaper than the company's previous consoles. It was a necessary step to keep up with the competitors' consoles that appear almost every week. AYANEO AIR, equipped with AMD Ryzen 5 5560U processor, providing two configurations of youth version and standard version will start at $499 when it debuts soon on Indiegogo.

AYA Neo Air has a screen size of only 5.5 inches, which is smaller than most modern smartphones. But this is not a low resolution 720p screen, but a quality OLED panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. This is by far the most important feature of the gaming device, and the second feature of the console is its price. The AYA Neo Air is priced at $549 for the 128GB model, which is more than the cheapest Steam Deck version.

The AYANEO AIR game console will be offered with either a 6-core Ryzen 5560U processor or an 8-core Ryzen 5825U. In addition to different processors, consoles can differ in the amount of RAM, which is 8, 16 and even 32 GB. The use of Ryzen 5000U processors based on the Zen3 architecture and Vega graphics will undoubtedly affect its performance, so it will compete more with the Nintendo Switch OLED than with the powerful Steam Deck.

The console has a relatively small 28 Wh or 38 Wh battery depending on the version. The company estimates that the latter guarantees at least 1 hour of play in 15W consumption mode and up to 2 hours 27 minutes in 5W consumption mode. The 28Wh battery, which delivers even shorter battery life, will ship with the cheapest options.  

The AYA NEO AIR series will be available in five specifications and three colors: black, pink and white. As you can see, the console specs aren't particularly impressive even when compared to AYANEO's own consoles with Ryzen 6000U processors. In this regard, one may wonder whether it is even worth releasing such a device, the price of which cannot withstand any competition.
