Chatreey G2 Gaming Mini PC Launched with 12th Gen Core-i9 Processor and RTX 3050 GPU

The Chinese computer brand, Chatreey, has recently launched a mini desktop computer model G2. The compact computer measures 310 x 250 x 55mm and has an appearance that resembles a gaming console, thanks to the RGB lighting effects on the front of the case. It comes with options for either an Intel Core i7-12700H or Core i9-12900H processor, and it is equipped with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 mobile graphics card. The system can support up to 64GB of memory and three hard drives.

The Chatreey G2 can be considered as a gaming notebook without a screen, similar to the NUCXI5 and NUCXI7 launched by Minisforum. The flat body design is a result of using the same motherboard as a gaming notebook. The motherboard of the Chatreey G2 has two SO-DIMM memory slots, which can support up to 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory. It also has three hard disk interfaces, including a PCIe 4.0 SSD slot, a PCIe 3.0 SSD slot, and a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD interface and installation slot. The computer is equipped with two fans and four copper pipes to dissipate heat from the host. It has a standard wireless network card that supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

While the complete specifications of the USB-C interface have not been announced, the brand has stated that the computer can output up to three screens, implying that the C port will at least be compatible with the DisplayPort Alt function. The Core i9-12900H is Intel's 12th-generation flagship mobile processor, with a 14-core 20-thread CPU architecture and a maximum operating frequency of 5.0GHz. It supports 24MB of Intel Smart Cache and has a basic TDP of 45W, with a maximum overclocked TDP of 115W. The processor integrates an Iris Xe Graphics eligible core graphics card with 96 execution units, making it powerful in terms of performance even when the RTX3050 discrete graphics card is turned off to save power.

The Chatreey G2 is currently priced at $687 for the barebone system with the Core i7-12700H processor, excluding memory, hard disk, and operating system. The Core i9-12900H barebone system is priced at $743, making it a more cost-effective option.
