GMKTec Unveils EVO-X2 Mini PC “Gaming Version” with 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD
GMKTec has officially announced a new “Gaming version” of its EVO-X2 mini PC through its Weibo account. This updated variant comes equipped with 64GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, positioning it as a slightly more affordable alternative to the original high-spec model. The original EVO-X2 was offered in a configuration of 128GB RAM and 2TB SSD, priced at ¥14,999 in China, which converts to approximately USD 2,060.

The company has not yet confirmed the final price or release date for the “Gaming version.” However, marketing material hints at a four-digit price point, suggesting it may launch around USD 1,375.
The EVO-X2 “Gaming version” retains the same compact design and high-performance hardware as the flagship model. It utilizes a dual-turbo fan system combined with a vapor chamber (VC) heat sink to manage thermals effectively. This setup allows the mini PC to handle peak power consumption of up to 140W. Connectivity is also a highlight, with support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 wireless standard and a 2.5GbE wired LAN port for high-speed networking.
According to GMKTec, the EVO-X2’s AI capabilities are notable. In LM Studio benchmarks, the system reportedly delivers AI performance 2.2 times greater than NVIDIA’s RTX 4090, enabling local deployment of large-scale models with up to 70 billion parameters. While the claim targets AI workloads, the combination of high memory capacity and strong cooling suggests potential use cases in gaming, content creation, and professional workflows.

On the hardware side, the EVO-X2 “Gaming version” offers a comprehensive selection of I/O ports:
Front Panel
l Power button
l SD card reader
l 1x USB-C (40Gbps)
l 2x USB-A (USB 3.x)
l 1x audio jack
Rear Panel
l 2x USB-A (480Mbps)
l 1x HDMI 2.1
l 1x USB-C (40Gbps)
l 1x USB-A (USB 3.x)
l 1x 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN
l 1x headphone jack
l Power input
The EVO-X2 continues GMKTec’s push into the high-performance mini PC segment. With its smaller memory and storage configuration, the “Gaming version” aims to attract users who require robust processing power but can compromise slightly on capacity to achieve a lower price point.
GMKTec is expected to announce more details about global availability and pricing in the coming weeks. Based on the Chinese pricing hints, international pricing for the new configuration could land in the USD 1,300–1,500 range, making it a competitive option in the compact desktop market.
