Minisforum MS-A2 Mini Workstation Launched with AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX and Up to 96GB RAM
Minisforum has expanded its workstation lineup with a new version of the MS-A2 mini PC, now powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 9 9955HX mobile processor built on the Zen 5 architecture. The system was previously available only with the Ryzen 9 7945HX from the Zen 4 family.
The MS-A2 is designed as a compact yet expandable workstation solution. Measuring 196 × 189 × 48 mm and weighing 1.4 kg, the chassis has a total volume of just 1.78 liters. Power is supplied through a 19V DC adapter. Cooling is handled by a setup consisting of three heat pipes, a turbo fan, and phase-change thermal material, enabling the processor to operate at up to 100W TDP.
Inside, the MS-A2 includes two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 96GB of memory. Storage options are extensive, with three PCIe 4.0 ×4 NVMe slots. Two of these are compatible with M.2 2280 and U.2 drives, while the third supports M.2 22110/2280. Expansion is further enhanced with a full-length PCIe 4.0 ×8 slot that can accept a half-height single-slot add-in card. Wireless connectivity is provided by an integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 module.
On the front panel, the MS-A2 includes a power button, headphone jack, two USB-A 5Gbps ports, and one USB-A 480Mbps port. The rear panel features two 10GbE SFP+ ports, two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, two full-function USB-C 10Gbps ports, one HDMI output, one USB-A 10Gbps port, and one USB-A 5Gbps port, offering a wide range of connectivity options for professional workloads.
