TECLAST Linglong M Barebone Mini PC Review
Recently, I have been looking for a small NUC to connect to the TV. I usually use it to watch videos or do some simple office work. It just so happened that TECLAST recently launched the Linglong M Barebone Mini PC, which uses the 11th generation N5095 processor. , 4 cores and 4 threads, although it looks unremarkable, it is better than low power consumption, rich interfaces, and high playability. I happened to have some spare accessories, so I bought one to play with, and put the spare accessories to use by the way. If you don’t want to use them, you can also use them for your parents to fight landlords or mahjong.

I personally think the outer packaging of TECLAST Linglong is more attentive. On the whole, it is divided into two layers. The whole is mainly black, with the logo of TECLAST on it, TECLAST Linglong in the middle, and a colored light drawing on the side. And the red TECLAST Linglong logo.
Open the top cover to see the main body, there is a layer of plastic protection on it, and there are holes at the top and bottom for easy removal, just reach in and pull it out.
The size of Linglong M can be said to be very small. The overall volume is only 0.6L, the length and width are both 116mm, and the thickness is 43mm without the foot pad, and 45mm with the foot pad.
The whole mini pc is mainly black, the top surface is divided into two parts, the top is the hollow regular heat dissipation hole, the bottom is the plane, there is the TECLAST logo, and there is a QR code sticker in the lower left corner with the desktop warranty written on it, so Linglong M provided it. 3-year warranty on major components, and also supports on-site maintenance and remote service. So even as a simple home machine is very suitable.
The interface is very rich, which is also a feature of Linglong M. There is a Type-C interface on the front, which supports 4K60Hz video output, as well as two USB3.0 and two USB2.0 interfaces, two 3.5mm interfaces, and one is a headphone. , the other is the microphone , and finally the power button.
There is a COM port on the left side, which is a communication port, which can be connected to some communication equipment, such as a gastroscope, CT in a hospital, or a receipt printer in a supermarket, etc., so it is also useful. Next to it are the DP interface, the TF card reader interface, and the anti-theft keyhole. The DP interface supports 4K60Hz video output. The TF card port is still very good, especially since I have quite a lot of TF cards, it is convenient to have this.
The back is also filled with interfaces, two USB2.0, two 2.5G RJ45 network cable interfaces, an HDMI interface that supports up to 4K30Hz, and a 12V power interface. Two network ports, can it be soft... Yes, but I won't, so I won't bother with this first.
The last side is basically all the heat dissipation holes, the arrangement is regular and neat, all are small round holes, and there are 4 screws. When I opened it, I realized what the four screws were used for.
There are four threaded holes at the bottom, which should support VESA hanging behind the monitor . There is a label in the middle with some basic information and 4 bottom plate fixing screws on the outermost side.
The accessories part is relatively simple, a power supply, a manual, and some 3M foot pads, there are still more, you can paste them wherever you want. The texture of the power supply is good, it looks better than the average notebook power supply, and the material is more comfortable. It is produced by Suoyuan Technology and can output 12V4A, which is 48W, and the actual power consumption will be lower than 48W.
TECLAST Linglong M Disassembly
Because it is a barebone Mini PC , it still needs to install solid state and memory, so it has to be disassembled. The bottom plate can be taken out by unscrewing the 4 screws at the bottom. You can notice that a small detail is a small opening, and you can move it up from here. Open the base plate.
Open it and you can see the inside. Although it is said to be a barebone Mini PC , it is actually very simple to install. There are two memory slots, an M2 interface, and a wireless network card. Just put the memory and solid state into it, and it can be used when it is turned on.
The 4 screws on the side seem to be used to fix the motherboard. The 4 pieces just form a mezzanine and fix the motherboard. However, after unscrewing the screws, the 4 fixing blocks cannot be removed, so I did not remove the motherboard.
The wireless network card model is 7265NGW, which supports dual-band WiFi5 and Bluetooth 4.2, which is basically sufficient.
Here I got two 16G 3200 memory and intel 660p 500G test machine, and it's done. However, it should be noted that the maximum frequency of the memory supports 2933MHz, and the group dual-channel is the biggest support for the nuclear display. Don't install it on the floor first, make sure the machine can be turned on normally before installing it back.
The overall feeling of putting it on the table is really small, about the same size as my stand base, because it is a DP interface, so the DP cable is directly connected to the side, like a keyboard and mouse can be directly connected to the back.
The logo of TECLAST will be displayed when I turn it on. I have a 2K monitor, but the resolution of the logo is very high and it looks very clear. The orange logo is also very beautiful.
After the driver is installed, you can see 165Hz at the refresh rate, which is silky smooth. In Master Lu, you can see the model TECLAST TL-NUC N5095 Pizza Box, the processor is Celeron N5095, the base frequency is 2.0GHz, the maximum turbo frequency is 2.9GHz, 4 cores and 4 threads, strong performance, low power consumption, so the technology progress is still necessary.
The entertainment master scored 260,000 points, of which the processor scored 100,000 points, beating 17% of users. It can chat smoothly on the Internet, trade stocks in the office, and play small games with accurate positioning. Regarding the memory, I actually think it is more suitable to have two 4Gs. In order to avoid the trouble, I will buy two more.
As can be seen in CPU-Z, the TDP of this CPU design is only 15W, and Intel's traditional 10nm++++ process. In the test scores, you can see the single-core score of 255.6 and the multi-core score of 1011.7.
For a MINI PC although the power consumption is low, the heat dissipation performance is also worth paying attention to. The temperature is basically kept at 70°C after baking the CPU for 10 minutes. It is a very stable straight line. 70°C is actually not high. The most important thing is that the noise control is very good. , there is no particularly loud wind noise, and it is basically inaudible when placed on the table.
BeBcause it may be mainly office work, I also ran a PCMARK10, with a score of 1715, 3347 points for common basic functions, 2698 points for productivity, and 1519 points for digital content creation, for reference only.
The external TV is also one of the main reasons for me to buy it, so I connected it to the Sony TV that I bought a few years ago at home, 65 inches, and the resolution on the display is only 1080p optional, but the output is HDMI interface. I don’t know if this is the problem. It's pretty clear from a distance.
The Mini PC is placed in the lower left corner, together with the TV box , and it is not much bigger than the TV box . To use it well here, I have to use an artifact. I bought a bluetooth controller, which supports both the mouse and the keyboard, so the computer There's nothing wrong with connecting to the TV.
It is also a good choice to watch videos from station B, or play movies in NAS through potplayer, so I think my choice of buying and connecting to TV is right.
Buy Teclast's Linglong M barebone Mini PC at around 900yuan ($135 USD). Now the price of memory and solid state is not particularly expensive. Buying a 256 solid state may not need 200yuan ($30 USD). Two 4G memory is about 170yuan ($25 USD), even if you add up to 350 to buy solid state and memory , the whole machine is only 1250yuan ($200 USD), it feels much more cost-effective than the 4th generation machine from picking up garbage. The key is the upgrade of some interfaces brought by the new U, such as Type-C, one machine can be connected to 3 monitors, dual network ports have more playability, it is good to buy one to play.
