Chuwi CoreBook Air Launches with AMD Ryzen 7 and Ultra-Light Weight

Chuwi has officially launched its new CoreBook Air laptop, positioning it as one of the lightest notebooks in its category. The company aims to deliver a balance of portability and performance, featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, Radeon 780M graphics, and a sleek metal chassis that weighs only 1 kilogram.

The CoreBook Air’s design reflects a focus on mobility and minimalism. Its aluminum body has a wedge-shaped profile measuring between 9mm and 16mm in thickness, allowing it to maintain a slim appearance while ensuring durability for everyday use. At just 1kg, it’s lighter than Apple’s MacBook Air (1.24kg), which has long been a benchmark for lightweight laptops. Despite its compact dimensions, the laptop retains a full-sized keyboard and a wide touchpad for comfortable typing and navigation.

Under the hood, the CoreBook Air is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840H processor based on the Zen 4 architecture. It features eight cores and sixteen threads, capable of reaching boost frequencies up to 4.9GHz. The integrated Radeon 780M graphics are built on the RDNA 3 architecture, offering improved efficiency and enough graphical power for content creation, media playback, and light gaming. Paired with 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 1TB solid-state drive, the system promises fast response times and smooth multitasking performance across office and creative workloads.

On the display side, Chuwi has equipped the CoreBook Air with a 14-inch IPS panel featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2240×1440 pixels. The screen delivers sharp text and accurate colors for productivity, though its refresh rate is limited to 60Hz, which suits work and entertainment tasks rather than high-refresh gaming.

Power is supplied by a 60Wh battery, a respectable capacity considering the system’s lightweight construction. Chuwi claims this setup provides enough endurance for a full workday of web browsing, document editing, and media consumption.

The CoreBook Air also includes a practical selection of I/O ports. Users get two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, and a full-size HDMI port, enabling external connections such as 4K 120Hz monitors. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring modern networking standards for both home and office environments.

In addition to the high-end Ryzen 7 model, Chuwi is introducing a more affordable version featuring the AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor. This configuration includes 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 1920×1200 resolution display. Both models share the same slim aluminum chassis and port layout.

Pricing for the Chuwi CoreBook Air starts at €430 for the Ryzen 5 model, while the Ryzen 7 version is priced at €512. The laptop is expected to be available soon through Chuwi’s official website and major online retailers.

With its combination of light design, capable hardware, and competitive pricing, the Chuwi CoreBook Air aims to attract users seeking a portable yet powerful laptop for work and daily computing in 2025.
