MANGMI Technology officially introduced its new Android handheld game console, the MANGMI AIR X, last week. Positioned as an entry-level handheld device, the AIR X is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 processor and comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration.

The company states that the AIR X is designed for users seeking an affordable handheld gaming option without compromising core functionality. The console features an 8-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU, which together support a wide range of Android games and emulator-based titles. Though not aimed at high-end performance gaming, this setup is expected to handle light to moderate workloads reliably.

Physically, the AIR X sports a minimalist design with what MANGMI describes as a skin-friendly casing. The device is shaped to offer a more ergonomic grip during extended sessions. It houses a 5000mAh battery, which supports 15W fast charging. This combination aims to strike a balance between battery life and charging convenience, suitable for casual to regular use throughout the day.

The screen measures 5.5 inches diagonally and uses a full HD panel with a 1920x1080 resolution. It follows a 16:9 aspect ratio and supports up to 110% sRGB color gamut, with a peak brightness rated at 450 nits. These specifications suggest the display is focused on delivering sharp visuals and adequate color reproduction for handheld gaming, multimedia, and general Android use.

On the software side, the AIR X runs Android 14 and comes preloaded with a custom front-end known as “M Space.” This interface has been designed specifically for handheld gaming, offering features and layout options optimized for game launching and control customization. While further software details are limited, MANGMI appears to be targeting ease of use and gaming-focused navigation with this implementation.

The AIR X does not currently have an official release date or pricing, and MANGMI has yet to announce regional availability. Given the feature set, it appears the device will be positioned as an entry-level alternative to more expensive handheld consoles, focusing on affordability while maintaining a modern Android experience.

As of now, it remains to be seen how the AIR X will perform in real-world usage and how it will compete against other entry-tier Android handhelds in the market. More information regarding software updates, third-party game compatibility, and long-term support may emerge closer to the official release.
