ANBERNIC has officially released the RG 477M, a new Android handheld gaming console that combines a durable metal design with modern hardware. The device is built to deliver smooth gameplay for both retro emulation and Android-based gaming, while offering a premium tactile feel thanks to its all-metal body.

The RG 477M is manufactured using CNC machining and features a housing made from 6063-T6 aviation-grade aluminum alloy. This design choice gives the device structural strength and a high-end finish, aimed at gamers who value both durability and appearance. Its compact frame houses a 4.7-inch LTPS In-Cell touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×960 in a 4:3 aspect ratio. The panel supports up to a 120 Hz refresh rate and multi-touch input, making it especially well-suited for Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation, where dual-screen functionality benefits from sharp visuals and smooth transitions.

Under the hood, the RG 477M runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 processor, fabricated on an advanced 4nm process, paired with a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU. This combination provides strong performance with efficient power management, making it capable of handling demanding Android titles as well as emulation across multiple platforms. Buyers have the option to choose between two main configurations: 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage, or 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage. Additional expandability is provided through SD card options of 128 GB or 256 GB, available as part of different retail bundles.

In terms of controls, the RG 477M features a wide-angle 3D Hall joystick, designed for precise analog input. The system also includes a six-axis gyroscope for motion-sensitive gameplay and a vibration motor for added feedback. Powering the handheld is a 5300 mAh lithium-polymer battery, capable of delivering up to 7 hours of use on a single charge. Fast charging at 27 W ensures shorter downtime between sessions. To keep performance stable during extended play, the console employs an active cooling system with a heat pipe and a high-performance fan.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E for faster and more stable network connections, Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless accessories, and USB Type-C with 1080p video output for external displays. These features expand the usability of the handheld, making it suitable for both on-the-go and at-home gaming setups.

The RG 477M comes in two finishes — Silver Blade and Chocolate Bronze. Pricing starts at $219.99 and goes up to $299.99 depending on the selected memory and storage configuration. With its combination of metal construction, high refresh-rate display, and a modern processor, the RG 477M strengthens ANBERNIC’s presence in the handheld console market.
