The Chinese company GPD has announced the next generation portable gaming computer called GPD Win 4, which boasts high performance thanks to the Ryzen 7 6800U processor and the integrated Radeon 680M graphics accelerator. Visually, the novelty is similar to the Sony PSP console, but runs on the Windows operating system with a GPD Playnite interface for better adaptation to this form factor.

The gadget received a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080p (not specified, OLED or LCD) - against 7 "for Steam Deck . At the same time, the body of the novelty is noticeably more compact: 92 × 220 mm versus 117 × 298 mm. The design of the Win 4 resembles the PSP, and the form factor resembles its less popular sister, the PSP Go. True, here, under the screen, there are not control buttons and sticks, but a full-fledged keyboard - except that there are not enough function keys. Inside is an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor with Radeon 680M graphics.

The amount of LPDDR5 RAM is 16 or 32 GB, depending on the modification, the storage is NVME SSD 1 or 2 TB. The console has a pair of analog sticks, ABXY buttons and directional arrows, as well as shoulder triggers. There are two USB-C connectors for simultaneous charging and connecting accessories, Wi-Fi and LTE are also supported. Out of the box, it runs on Windows with the Playnite UI user interface adapted to smaller screens.

The case of GPD Win 4 is made of matte polycarbonate, it is more curved than the previous model. In general, the design strongly resembles the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) with the same control buttons. The console has a built-in keyboard that appears when you slide the screen up. In fact, it replaces the touch buttons and controls on the screen. From the connection interfaces, there are two USB ports (top and bottom), Wi-Fi and 4G LTE, so that users can play anywhere and anytime.

In addition, the new handheld adds a 4G LTE module with a back clip, as well as a back clip SSD module, which supports M.2 2230 and 2242 specifications.

The device will be available in black and white. The price has not yet been announced, but representatives of the brand on Twitter said that they soon plan to launch the GPD Win 4 page on Indiegogo crowdfunding. At the end of the campaign, the gadget should appear in the GPD store on AliExpress.
