ANBERNIC has opened pre-orders for its new RG DS Dual-Screen Handheld, expanding its range of Android-based portable gaming systems. The company confirmed that the first batch of units will begin shipping in sequence before December 15, 2025, giving enthusiasts a chance to secure their device ahead of the holiday season. Early buyers can also benefit from a $6 discount, although the offer is limited and may revert once stock levels stabilize.

The ANBERNIC RG DS adopts a dual-screen layout, offering a familiar design reminiscent of earlier clamshell gaming systems. Available in Black & Crimson Red, Turquoise Blue, and Polar White, the device aims to provide users with a combination of classic portability and modern performance. Both the primary and secondary displays are 4-inch IPS panels with OCA full lamination and 640×480 resolution, supporting multi-touch input and capacitive stylus control. The dual-screen system also enables quick switching between active screens, along with the option for split-screen or dual-application operation.

The RG DS runs on the Rockchip RK3568 processor, a quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A55 CPU reaching up to 2.0GHz, coupled with an ARM Mali-G52 2EE GPU for reliable graphics performance. It comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a TF card up to 2TB—ample space for games, media, and apps. Powered by Android 14, the device supports a broad range of native Android games and over 20 types of emulators, offering an extensive library that spans both classic and modern gaming experiences.

In terms of connectivity, the RG DS supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless accessories and data transfer. The unit includes a six-axis gyroscope sensor, vibration motor, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, offering a complete set of multimedia features. It also supports wireless screen projection and online multiplayer, expanding its usability for different gaming scenarios.

A 4000mAh lithium polymer battery powers the handheld, offering around six hours of playtime depending on usage. The system integrates energy-saving controls and adjustable brightness settings to help extend battery life. Another practical feature is the built-in Hall magnetic switch, which automatically puts the device into sleep mode when the cover is closed, improving power management and preserving session data.

With its mix of Android 14 flexibility, dual-display interaction, and broad emulator support, the RG DS positions itself as a capable and adaptable handheld option for gamers. ANBERNIC’s consistent focus on combining retro-inspired designs with modern technology continues through this release. Pre-orders for the RG DS are live now, and once stock arrives, the price is expected to return to its original rate, making the current offer time-sensitive for early buyers.
