AYANEO has officially announced that its latest Android handheld gaming console, the Pocket S2, will be launched on June 18. The announcement comes following the global debut of the device earlier this year during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) held in San Francisco. Positioned as the company’s new flagship model, the Pocket S2 is the first Android handheld console to feature the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 platform.

The Snapdragon G3x Gen 3 platform introduces a new architecture with notable performance upgrades. According to AYANEO, the CPU performance sees a 30% increase, while GPU performance improves by 28% compared to its predecessor. The platform supports features such as hardware-level ray tracing and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, which are designed to enhance visual quality during gameplay.

The Pocket S2 is built around a 6.3-inch IPS display with 2K UHD resolution. AYANEO highlights that the screen offers improved color accuracy and brightness, which could benefit mobile gamers who value image fidelity. The device also includes support for Wi-Fi 7, aimed at delivering faster and more reliable network connectivity, especially for cloud-based gaming and streaming services.

To address power needs, AYANEO has equipped the Pocket S2 with what it states is the largest battery capacity found in Android handhelds of comparable size. Fast charging support is also included, though the exact battery capacity and charging speeds have not been specified. Cooling is managed through a redesigned thermal system that combines a large-area heatsink with an active cooling fan, intended to maintain system stability during demanding gaming sessions.

The Pocket S2 continues AYANEO's industrial design approach, featuring a CNC-machined full metal middle frame and an ergonomically contoured back with a four-curve arc layout. These design elements are intended to improve grip and handling during extended use.

In terms of controls and user interface, the device features upgraded Hall effect joysticks and triggers, dual X-axis linear motors for haptic feedback, and runs AYANEO’s proprietary AYASpace software paired with the AYAHome launcher. These tools aim to streamline game management and system customization, offering users options such as performance mode switching and button remapping.

As of now, AYANEO has not disclosed pricing details for the Pocket S2. Further information is expected to be revealed during or after the official launch on June 18.
