GPD is back with its latest handheld gaming powerhouse, the WIN 5, and pre-orders start on September 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. via GPD’s official Tmall and JD.com stores.

Pricing and Options

The WIN 5 comes in three main flavors:

  • Ryzen 9 395 + 64GB + 4TB$1,820

  • Ryzen 9 395 + 32GB + 2TB$1,400

  • Ryzen 7 385 + 32GB + 1TB$1,220

Gamers can also grab optional add-ons: a 1TB Mini SSD ($84), Smart Dock ($70), and removable battery ($70).

Gaming Performance

Don’t let the small size fool you—the WIN 5 packs a serious punch. The Ryzen 9 395 with 32 threads is overkill for most games, while the Ryzen 7 385 is more than enough to handle today’s AAA titles at high settings. Compared to last year’s Ryzen 7 370 models, the WIN 5 nearly triples GPU performance, giving you smooth frame rates without blowing your budget.

Early testers are already posting videos of Black Myth: Wukong running at max settings, along with teardowns showing a sleek, gamer-friendly design. Community benchmarks indicate that even at modest power levels, the WIN 5 outperforms previous handhelds, making it one of the most capable portable gaming PCs of 2025.

Charging and Battery

The WIN 5 supports USB4 charging up to 100W. Buyers should skip the hype around 240W GaN chargers—the device won’t draw more than 100W anyway. Hot-swapping the battery is possible with a 100W charger or power bank, as long as the system isn’t under heavy load.

With its punchy performance, modular accessories, and reasonable pricing, the GPD WIN 5 is shaping up to be a must-have for gamers who want a true gaming PC in their pocket.
