ANBERNIC Launches RG Slide Handheld Gaming Console with Android 13 and Sliding Design
ANBERNIC has officially released its latest handheld gaming device, the RG Slide, now available for purchase through JD.com. The new product continues the company’s approach of repurposing established internal hardware while offering a refreshed form factor. The RG Slide builds on the specifications of the RG556, a model that was introduced by ANBERNIC in early 2024.

The RG Slide features a sliding screen design, similar in concept to older devices such as Sony’s Xperia Play smartphone and the PSP Go handheld. When the screen is pushed upwards, it reveals the physical gaming controls underneath. This design gives users a more compact experience when not actively gaming, while still offering full access to traditional handheld console controls when needed.

The device comes with a 4.7-inch touchscreen, using a 1280x960 resolution panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display brightness is rated at 500 nits, making it usable in most indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. It also supports touch input, which can help improve navigation through the Android operating system and various game interfaces.
Internally, the RG Slide uses the same Unisoc T820 processor found in the RG556. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users who need additional space for games or media can expand the storage using a microSD (TF) card, with support for cards up to 2TB in capacity.

The handheld runs on Android 13 out of the box, allowing access to a wide range of Android games and applications. This also means it can support multiple game emulators, cloud gaming services, and standard media apps, making it a multi-purpose device for both gaming and general entertainment.
The RG Slide measures 154mm in length, 90mm in height, and 26mm in thickness. It weighs 379 grams, making it slightly heavier than some competing handhelds, but still within a manageable range for portable use. It is available in two color options: black and white.
Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery. According to official specifications, the console supports 10W charging and can fully charge in approximately three hours. ANBERNIC states that the device can provide up to six hours of continuous gaming on a single charge, though actual battery life may vary depending on the types of games being played and brightness settings.
With its familiar hardware and a retro-inspired sliding design, the RG Slide is positioned as an option for users looking for an Android-based handheld that blends physical controls with a modern touchscreen experience.
