OneXPlayer has officially released the OneXPlayer 3, a new Windows-based gaming handheld designed to combine portable gaming with laptop-style productivity. The latest device arrives with a focus on high-performance gaming, featuring Intel Arc G3 Extreme graphics, a large OLED display, an 85Wh battery, and a detachable controller system that allows it to work as a handheld console, tablet, or compact laptop.

The OneXPlayer 3 is powered by an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with a 35W TDP, offering improved performance for demanding PC games. The company claims that the handheld can deliver up to 119 frames per second gameplay in Cyberpunk 2077, depending on the game settings and performance mode. This puts the device among the higher-performance Windows gaming handhelds currently available.

The device includes an 85Wh battery, which is one of the largest battery capacities found in mass-produced handheld gaming devices. The battery capacity is also higher than what many laptops offer, allowing users to spend more time gaming without staying connected to a charger. However, when running games at maximum power settings, the OneXPlayer 3 can provide around two hours of battery life due to its high-performance hardware.

Cooling is handled through a combination of a vapor chamber, pure aluminum cooling fins, a fan, and three heat pipes. This setup is designed to manage temperatures during extended gaming sessions. In FurMark dual stress testing, the front surface temperature reached 48.6°C, while the grip area remained at 29.5°C, helping maintain a comfortable handheld experience.

The OneXPlayer 3 features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 1920×1200 resolution. The panel supports up to 1100 nits HDR peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and a variable refresh rate between 30Hz and 144Hz. The high refresh rate allows smoother gameplay, while the OLED panel improves contrast and color quality for games and video content.

Storage expansion is another key feature of the handheld. The device comes with an internal M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD, along with a Mini SSD expansion slot that supports Biwin Mini SSD drives. Users can also add more storage through the TF card slot, making it easier to carry a larger game library.

For controls, the handheld uses a design inspired by traditional console controllers. It comes with Xbox-style buttons, capacitive joysticks with anti-drift technology, micro-switch buttons, a replaceable micro-switch D-pad, and Hall effect two-stage triggers. These features are aimed at providing more accurate control during fast-paced games.

OneXPlayer has also added a modular approach with a detachable controller and magnetic keyboard accessory. With Windows 11 installed, the device can be used for gaming, browsing, office work, and other PC tasks. The keyboard attachment allows users to turn the handheld into a small laptop-style device when needed.

The software experience is managed through OneXPlayer Center, which allows users to control performance modes, manage game libraries, and adjust hardware settings. The software also supports AI-based features, including real-time translation and AI walkthrough assistance for games.

The OneXPlayer 3 includes a wide range of connectivity options and hardware features:

l Fingerprint power button for additional security

l Dual USB-C 4.0 ports

l USB-A 3.2 port

l 3.5mm audio jack

l M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD support

l Mini SSD expansion slot

l TF card storage expansion

With its combination of Intel Arc graphics, a large OLED display, expandable storage, and flexible design, the OneXPlayer 3 aims to provide a portable PC gaming experience while offering the convenience of a tablet and laptop in a single device.
